Las Vegas baby!

So, as you all know now this girl has been to Vegas and she loved it :D When you drive in the desert for three days and everything is dry and dead it was relieving to find a place where there was civilisation. Although the people of Vegas is not what you would call civilised! Hehe. For those of you that don't know it: Everything about Las Vegas is a fake. This town is buildt in the middle of nowwhere for one reason and one reason only, TO GO CRAZY. There is sooo many casinos and free drinks and night clubs and money in this place that you cant help but smile, it's not like any other place in the world. We spent 3 nights in this notorious place, all in different hotels. First night at "Plaza" with was a cheap hotel located next to the Fremont experience. A bit dirty and not too interesting here, so we decided to move down town. The next night was spent at a hotel called Excalibur, which I know you all recognise from the film. Oh! What you all need to know is that the hotels in Vegas all have different themes. We have Venice and Paris and New York and Egypt and god knows what! Back to the point here, Excalibur was built as a HUGE castle where everything, down to every little detail, is fake. This was a nice hotel which was much more fun to stay in. The last night we went Vegas all the way and we stayed at ............ THE BELLAGIO!! I have never ever seen a hotel as fancy and nice as this and I enjoyed every single second of what it had to offer. Almost everything! I have picture of so you can see for yourself.

In Las Vegas there are tons of things to see if interested, they have lions and the MGM, dolphins and tigers at the mirage, sharks and so on. What you need to see if you ever go here is the famous fountain show at Bellagio, it is simply BEAUTIFUL. Never ever to be underestimated.

Of course we did some gambling, I learned to play the roulette and Craps and I left Vegas with 75 dollars for the "Gro is travelling and always need money" trust.
We went to a show called "Thunder from down under" with was important to see to understand how Vegas works. Hehe! I'm not going to explain about it but I am sure that if you are interested information will pop up if you google it;D

What I found out are two things:
a) Vegas is NOT a city, it's just a big amusement park,
b) Everything is fake
Oh! and C, this girl is going back!

Road trip

I'm on a road trip with a really nice girl from Italy called Lucis. We decided yesterday to rent a car and drive to Las Vegas. Hehe :) A beautiful bus trip down to Santa Barbara and a okay rental price later and we were on our way.

To night we are staying in a small town called Palmdale at a motel just like in all the films, with I find very funny:D Tomorrow it's of to Death Valley through the desert. We have made a reservation for an other place to stay there which we found in the Lonely Planet guide. Now its way to late here and we have to get up early so this is a short one.

Where are the comments people??

Today I went to one of the best aquariums I probably will see! Amazing! I have posted some pictures now but more and better will come later. Monterey Bay Aquarium - www.mbayaq.org.

I went further down the coast in the afternoon with three people from Switzerland. We drove by the sea all the way and ended up in San Lois Obispo. Now I just got home from a good game of bowling and at this moment in my bed to go to sleep. This is a small town and there is only this hostel :) hehe!

Monterey is nice!

So today I travel further down the coast to a place called Monterey. I'm staying here tonight at a small and really charming hostel called IH-Monterey.

So what did I see today? I am not sure what it is with me and dead animals now a days but they seem to follow me, or maybe I follow them. Or maybe I bring bad luck.. I hope not! Me and a friend from the hotel in SF took his car down here today, on the way down we stopped to see a big colony of sea elephants. It was quite early in the morning so they were not on the beach but out feeding in the water. We saw them, but very far away. What we did see close up was a dead female sea elephant laying on the beach. And - I don't really think the other elephants care because some other seal had been laying on top because it was flat as a pancake... Not good guys! That's not nice. We also saw a dead dear by the road, probably the same problem here as with moose back home.

After all this drama Big Sur State Park was next with beautiful beaches and 25 C.... Anybody envies? I am, of my self :)

Tomorrow I going to the aquarium in Monterey, with is told to be really good. So high expectations at this moment...
